The chief of the Indian Army, General Manoj Pande, took a tour on the Light Combat Helicopter at the Aero India show in Bengaluru today.

“It was a very satisfying and meaningful experience. I was quite impressed with the kind of features the Light Combat Helicopter has, especially in terms of manoeuvrability and capabilities that we in the Army require from a combat helicopter,” General Manoj Pande told news agency ANI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Pavilion at the Aero India show in Bengaluru this morning. The prime minister also inaugurated the 14th edition of Aero India 2023 at Air Force Station in Karnataka’s Yelahanka and released a commemorative stamp.

The aero show, Asia’s biggest, will display indigenous equipment and technologies and sign up with foreign companies in line with the 'Make in India, Make for the World' vision.

The skies of Bengaluru are testimony to the capabilities of a new India, PM Modi said at the inauguration. "Today, India is touching new heights and transcending them too,” he said.

Over 700 defence firms and delegates from 98 countries are participants at Aero India, which shows India as an emerging hub for manufacturing of military aircraft, helicopters, military equipment and new-age avionics.

Aero India 2023 will be a five-day event and will include aerial displays by aircraft and helicopters, along with an exhibition and trade fair of aerospace and defence companies.
